According to the firm, after announcing last week that the brand that would include Facebook itself as well as Messenger, WhatsApp, Instagram, and other services will be known as Meta, it is now updating the footer of its applications to reflect this.
According to WABetaInfo, with WhatsApp beta version 2.21.220.14, when you start the app, it no longer displays "WhatsApp from Facebook," but instead displays "WhatsApp from Meta," as previously reported.
WhatsApp introduced the "from Facebook" logo to the app's initial screen around a year ago, and it is now updating that to better represent the firm's ambitions to become a metaverse corporation.
According to the article, WhatsApp has also removed the "WhatsApp from Facebook" footer from the settings menu.
When Mark Zuckerberg announced this shift in conjunction with the company's goal of having a billion users in its metaverse in a decade, he said:
The moment has come for us to establish a new corporate identity to cover all that we do as part of this process. To accurately portray who we are and what we aspire to achieve. I'm pleased to report that our firm has changed its name to Meta.
Speaking of modest WhatsApp upgrades, this beta version introduces the option to store messages received from business accounts, which is a welcome addition.
WABETAINFO reports that "WhatsApp created this capability to assist companies in improving the messages they communicate with their clients." In practice, this means that users may be able to read general comments regarding rated messages, but they will not be able to know who rated them, and WhatsApp will not be able to see what was said in the message. The end-to-end encryption that WhatsApp uses to protect your privacy is referred to as end-to-end encryption."
What are your thoughts on these modifications? Do you believe that Facebook changing its name to Meta will help you have a more positive outlook on the company? Please share your comments in the comment box below this article. Thanks.
