National security essential for economic stability of people: Moeed Yusuf

  • The country, according to Moeed Yusuf, should take advantage of its geographical position.
  • According to him, national security also entails ensuring people's economic stability.
  • According to him, if there is no peace in Afghanistan, it would have an impact on not just Pakistan, but the whole globe.

Dr. Moeed Yusuf, National Security Adviser, said on Wednesday that one of the goals of national security is to ensure that people are economically stable.

When speaking at an event organized by the English Speaking Union of Pakistan, Yusuf said that, along with national security, a country's economic security is also very essential to its citizens.

To shed light on the country's geographic significance in the area, Yusuf said that, "We should make use of our geographical position, and we should strive to comprehend our relevance."

The national security advisor also addressed the situation in Afghanistan, stating that since the country is now facing a crisis, the international community should come to its assistance.

If there is no peace in Afghanistan, Yusuf believes that it would have ramifications not just for Pakistan but for the whole globe. He said that Pakistan has always worked to bring about peace and stability in the area.

As for India, Yusuf expressed his displeasure with the country's stance toward its surrounding countries, calling it "wrong."

'Pakistan is keeping a careful watch on the situation in Afghanistan.'

Yusuf said that Pakistan is keeping a careful watch on the situation in Afghanistan last month, after the Taliban's successful takeover of the nation after more than two decades.

The situation in Afghanistan has improved, according to the National Security Advisor, who also said that Pakistan was attempting to evacuate individuals from Kabul.

According to the National Security Advisor, no nation has made a public declaration against Pakistan. "This is the result of our efforts," he added, emphasizing that one should not depend on rumors.

Even India has been deafeningly quiet, and no one has mentioned Pakistan, Yusuf said, adding that "effort on identifying a scapegoat is still ongoing."
