Putin has urged the West to release Afghanistan's frozen financial assets.

 

A fundamental demand of the Taliban has been confirmed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has called on western nations to unfreeze Afghanistan's financial assets in order to address the country's socio-economic issues, which have been exacerbated by the conflict in Afghanistan.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday that Western nations have "the primary responsibility" for the situation in Afghanistan, according to the Turkish Anadolu Agency. Putin was speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi.

In my opinion, the nations that have been warring for 20 years in that region have the primary responsibility for what is occurring there. According to him, the first thing that should be done is to release Afghan assets, which would allow the country to focus on solving its socio-economic issues, which are of critical significance.

He also hailed the Taliban for their contributions in the battle against the Daesh/ISIS terrorist organization in Afghanistan, which he called "outstanding."

Pakistan's participation in the Afghan settlement was also praised by the president, who described the country as "one of the most significant countries in the area."

Russian President Vladimir Putin also congratulated US Vice President Joe Biden, stating that his decision to remove American soldiers from Afghanistan was the correct option.

The withdrawal of soldiers from Afghanistan was a wise decision on his part. While he may not have fully comprehended what was going to happen, he must have realized that one way or another, domestically, this would be one of the lines of attack, and yet "he went for it — embraced and absorbed this duty," he said.

The Russian Federation is interested in a stable, flourishing Afghanistan that is free of terrorist threats and drug trafficking, and in order to achieve this, it is important to assist Afghanistan in restoring its economy, according to President Vladimir Putin.

Putin believed that the army withdrawal might have been handled better, but that as time progressed, everything will fall into place as it always does.
