Information Minister Fawad Chauhdry has stated that Pakistan is considering legal action to recover financial losses incurred as a result of the cancellation of England and New Zealand's commitment to touring Pakistan for international cricket matches. This could be a significant response to the cancellation of England and New Zealand's commitment to touring Pakistan for international cricket matches.
The New Zealand team was the first to cancel their tour, despite having already arrived in Pakistan for the first time since 2003 and has practised for a couple of days in Rawalpindi, where they were scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals before travelling to Lahore for five Twenty20 Internationals. After obtaining security advice from the New Zealand authorities on the day of the first One-Day International, the squad declined to leave their hotel rooms on the day of the match.
After considerable consideration, the New Zealand Cricket Board announced that the trip would be cancelled and that the players would be going home through Dubai as a result of the decision. Because of their rejection, the PAKISTAN CRICKET BOARD (PCB) chastised them and stated that their actions might have far-reaching consequences. The players arrived in Dubai through Islamabad.
Pakistan's Information Minister, Fawad Chauhdry, has stated that the country is in discussions with lawyers about taking legal action against the New Zealand Central Bank and the European Central Bank.
Due to New Zealand's decision to cancel their tour, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced yesterday that they were cancelling their men's and women's team tours to Pakistan after receiving suggestions from Britain's government that the region was "unsafe to travel" in response to their decision.
“The emotional and physical well-being of our players and support personnel continues to be our first concern, and this is even more important in light of the times in which we find ourselves.
“We are aware that there are growing worries regarding travel to the region, and we feel that proceeding will place more strain on a playing group that has already had to deal with a long time of operating in limited Covid environments,” according to a portion of the ECB's statement.
As a result, Pakistan's information minister, Fawad Chauhdry, has stated that the country will consult with legal experts before taking legal action against the England and New Zealand cricket boards, which have both cancelled tours due to "security" concerns, resulting in millions of rupees in losses for Pakistan Television (PTV).
A tweet from him stated that he will talk with attorneys about bringing legal action against the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZCB) if necessary (NZC). Further, he was cited by Geo TV as claiming that a foreign lobby was conspiring against Pakistani interests.
